Most of the rentals in N.E. are duplexes; however, during the recent real estate boom, many old warehouses and factories were converted into apartments or condos. Because there is a glut of available housing, many owners are renting units at a loss. When looking at duplexes, keep in mind that most multi-family units in Nordeast were built over 100 years ago.
